no end in sight
For the past few years I have followed this man and dog as they wander through my mind. Though their presence may appear simple and idyllic (nature lovers, wanderers, etc…), they have become totems I use to explore the mysterious aspects of life including death and rebirth, the consciousness of the universe, and personal meaning in an infinite and bewildering world.
Nearly all the work in this show was created this year as uncertainty guided me through landscapes, dreamscapes, and other realms. There is always a loose narrative element in each of my images but, together these 25 paintings create a fragmented view of the cyclical nature we’re all part of with emphasis on the transition of darkness into light and back again. If I’ve learned anything by following these two wanderers it’s, keep going.
